For the analysis, we picked patent portfolios of the top 10 assignees that bagged the most number of granted US patents in 2019.
Three among the top 10 assignees have an abandonment/rejection rate more than the average abandonment rate of their GAUs. Also, Intel is the only USA based company amongst the three.
Interestingly, Amazon’s abandonment/rejection rate is insanely low at 2.74% at GAUs with an average abandonment rate of 24.6% which is one of the highest on the list. No other assignee comes nearby to Amazon’s feat!
