Each company is evaluated on a Patent Portfolio Score a composite of filing volume, citation depth, claim breadth, and jurisdictional coverage. A higher score reflects the strategic quality and reach of a portfolio, not just how many patents a company has filed. A smaller portfolio with foundational, widely-cited claims can and often does outrank a high-volume filer with narrower scope.
